We are a recently retired active couple that have left the time constraints of careers behind. Every camping trip destination used to be determined by where we could drive within 24 hours, pitch a tent for a few days then make the too long drive home to get back to work the following Monday. It has been at least 30 years since a trip to the mountains lasted more than a week. Now, we stay on the road until we miss the house, feel the need to cut grass or miss the cats walking on us while we try to sleep.
Fickstravels.com will bring together several of our life’s passions, traveling with our travel trailer, capturing the beautiful views along the way and to sharing adventures with friends and family. We are relatively new to this “travel trailer” thing but have learned a lot in the past year that will be shared as we go forward and we hope to continue learning from old friends and from new acquaintances.
One of the first things we have learned is that unless we pay close attention, a lifestyle on the road can be expensive. Next to fuel, places to spend the night can be the most expensive aspect of travel with a camping trailer. We will be sharing locations of low cost (maybe free) campsites along the way.
